Here are some of the photos that mom took when they took Herhsey, The Pooping Pup, to the park.

Meeting & making new friends...

Wheeee.... I can feel the wind blowing through my hair!!

Caught doing what she does best --- Pooping!!
(That's dad walking there to pick up her poop)

A tired dog is a good dog!

'Smiling' for the camera...

Meanwhile, I have been helping mom with cleaning and decorating the house for Chinese New Year. This is one of the first things that we put up... the pussy willow tree (plus some synthetic cherry blossoms)!! We will be going to get more plants tonight cos live, blooming plants symbolize rebirth and new growth. Flowers are believed to be symbolic of wealth and high positions in one's career. Lucky is the home with a plant that blooms on New Year's Day, for that foretells a year of prosperity

I will show you more photos soon!

Mom's eyes are leaky because she just read that Destiny's gone to the Rainbow Bridge. I can't believe we have lost another friend in such a short span of time... we were only trying to come to terms with the loss of Zoe, and of course my llittle hammie sister, Moosie.

Our heart goes out to Destiny and Zoe's families. Mom is very affected everytime one of our friends goes to the Rainbow Bridge, and part of this is because I am a 'senior dog', and mom is really scared and is dreading when the day comes for me to join my friends. She hopes that she will have enough courage to make the best decision for me.

Ever since Hershey came into our lives, it has become even more obvious to mom that I am really not the young pup that she first brought home 9 years ago. I am not as playful, not as energetic, becoming grumpier and my used to be jet-black fur is now mostly grey, with specks of white... and it breaks her heart. Sometomes she even feels guilty for bringing Hershey into our lives because in a way, Hershey takes away some of her time that was originally meant for me.

Whew... this is one depressing post and we are sorry if we made any of you sad. On a brighter note, I'd like to share one piece of good news with you. Hershey finally pooped after 3.5 days!!

Friday, January 16, 2009

Mom and Dad finally couldn't stand it anymore and finally brought Hershey to the vet on Wednesday for her 'sploding butt' problem. All the pumpkin; rice; boiled chicken; scrambled egg formulae didn't seem to be effective and although she is still very happily eating, playing, nibbling, chewing, wrecking, destroying (ok, you get the picture right?).

She's got poked by a needle (finally something that's even more lethal than her evil teefies!!) and has to take medication for the next couple of days. the vet thinks she probably ate something that she shouldn't have when she is at the park.

It's Friday now and mom is still feeling worried... this time it's not because of Hershey's diarrhea... it is because Hershey hasn't pooped for coming 2 days now and mom thinks she is constipated. Our mom is a worry-wart, isn't she?!!

Here's the 'patient' asking mom to play 'tug' with her... This colourful ring toy is her current favourite as it's a Christmas present from Tommy. Does Hershey look sick to you??

Not long ago we played the 'Pay It Forward' game on our blog and the first 3 pups who commented on that post are: Happy, Chow Chow & Rudolf and Goofy. We will be sending 'something' to all of you shortly! Thanks for playing...

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

Mom and dad took Hershey to mom's boss' house one day so that she can play with her boss' 2 dogs, Max and Marmite. I was at grandma's day care because I much prefer the company of humans than dogs (yes, I am a funny thing...).

Hershey had a wonderful time running, chasing and playing bitey face with Max (Marmite's the smarter one here cos he opted to stay on the sidelines and watch all the action... and at the same time steer clear of Hershey's evil teefies!!)

1) Introduction --- Hershey pretending to be all ladylike and demure... **gagging sound**

2) Butt sniffing and warming up....

3) Play officially starts! --- Off with all pretense and Hershey's true colors are revealed... (don't even ask why she is trying to hump Max's head)...

4) Time for Bitey Face

5) Stopping for a rest

6) Hershey unashamedly claiming the host's water bowl for herself...

7) Dog-tired after all the action... (FINALLY!!).. that was after 2 solid hours of play

So what was I doing during this whole time? This!!

Pay it Forward

We recently played this game on Chow Chow's blog and are continuing on with it. The rules are really simple, "The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way. We are going to agree to send something fun, inspiring or uplifting to the first 3 blog owners who post a comment on this entry. In turn you will then post about this on your blog, link to us, then send something to the first three people who sign up to play along through your blog. There are no cost restraints, BUT don't go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. No biggie, just a gift that will make the person smile. Maybe something unique from where you live? And, remember that kindness don't have to involve money; there are untold ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go - just look around."

I think this is a great game to play, so even if you are not one of the first 3 to leave a comment on this post, please feel free to initiate it!

Reporter Huskee reporting from ummm... home. Hershey is still having the runs and she woke dad up at 3am cos she wanted to poop. They had given her some charcoal pills and loads of water. Mom also boil some rice and chicken for her so hopefully it'd improve. If she still does not improve, they'll be taking her to the V.E.T. ** shudders ** The diarrhea does not seem to be affecting her much fortunately, as she still has a healthy appetite and is very playful.

We were wondering what's the cause of this sudden bout of diarrhea... Pawsonally I think the girl just had too much to eat during the Chirstmas and New Year pawties. She should learn not to be so greedy next time!!

I have been a good big brother... I helped by being a good boy (I usually am) so that mom and dad can concentrate on taking care of Hershey.

This is my very first post in 2009, and I'd like to start it with wishing all my pa(w)ls and their families a Happy New Year! May this year be better than the last one, and may it be filled with even more love, joy and good health for all.

Mom found this cute picture of a Border Collie online (nope, it's not Hershey although it really looks like her!!).

I want to share with you the presents that Hershey and I received from mom and dad for Christmas.

All the 'smaller' ones belong to me and the 'bigger' ones are Hershey's. As you can see, there are more small ones than big ones! Heehee...

Mom and dad are still in Malaysia and won't be back till late tomorrow evening... Papa's parents are puppy-sitting Hershey whereas I am with mama's parents. Mama and papa have not been able to enjoy much because of Hershey. Just before they went on their trip, Hershey had diarrhea and it was so bad that mama had to cancel her playdate with Chow Chow. Mom gave her some medication and boiled her some chicken soup with rice... it seemed to have gotten better but then papa's dad told him that her poo poo was still very soft (and super stinky) on Friday. Fortunately it seemed to have improved over the weekend.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!

We went over to Godma/ Scuba's house just before Christmas to pass them all their presents and Hershey spent some time playing with the other doggies (Jack and Joey, Scuba, Tommy and CC).

3 Amigos posing in front of the tree with all the presents

Hershey and Scuba
(Sucba looks sleepy and Hershey looks demonic!!)

Mom and CC...
Mom had to 'rescue' CC from Hershey because CC is a very demure pooch and Hershey's rough housing is a bit too over the top for the poor girl (I totally understand how CC must've felt!). CC is a Christmas-day pup so she celebrated her barkday on Christmas day.. Isn't it cool?!

Some of the presents that we received this year...

We also received 2 parcels in the mail from Aki and Chow Chow!! **happy dance** Mom forgot to charge the battery of the camera, so it 'died' on us before we could take pictures of what Aki & Poopie sent us... They even sent a beautiful necklace for mommy! THANK YOU very much Aki & Poopie!!

We played a game on Chow Chow's blog called 'Paw It Forward', whereby you send something to the first 3 pups who leave a comment on that post. I was the 3rd one to comment so Chow Chow sent me these cute and yummy Christmas tree shaped treats! I shall continue on with the 'Paw It Forward' game once all the festivities are over (cos mom has been busy with 'things').

We will be away from the 2nd until the 7th cos mom is tagging along with dad when he goes for a business trip to Malaysia. If we don't get the chance to visit you, have a Happy New Year! We are looking forward to a brand new year ahead and hopefully 2009 will be a better year for all!! Before we go, here's our New Year Resolution - 2009:

Huskee:

  1. Be less picky about food
  2. Earn my first million (in terms of treats, squeaky toys, ear & tummy rubs, etc)
  3. Buy a house for me and Baby to live in
  4. And my secret resolution (shhhh...) is to send Hershey off to somewhere... maybe Siberia.

Hershey:

  1. Get my first boyfriend ** blush **
  2. Go to the park more often (like 20 times a day... though I'll settle for 15 times)
  3. Make more friends at the park
  4. Cause less destruction (mom made me put this down.. **pouts**)

Cuddles and kisses,

Huskee (& Hershey)

This is one of the 3 versions of Christmas card that we did for this year and it has Moosie's picture on it. We are sad that she didn't get to spend Christmas with us. Hopefully, she's met up with Lucas, T-man, FuFu, GirlGirl, Oscar, LacyLulu, Herbie, and all our other DWB friends who have gone over to the Rainbow Bridge, for I am sure they will take good care of her and show her where she can get the best sunflower seeds.

Wishing all our friends a Wonderful Christmas... we came across this poem that aptly describes how we are feeling this Christmas. To all our furry friends and your families, this is for you.

My Friends, My Angels

I believe in angels

Those helpers who are near

They know exactly when they're needed most,

And then they seem to disappear.

I know them when I see them

Whatever their disguise

They are patient and encouraging

Resourceful, kind, and wise.

Yes, I believe in angels

The kind that heaven sends

And I'm surrounded every day

By angels I call friends.

God gave me someone special

When He gave me a special friend like you.

Our hamster sister, Moosie, passed away last night. It took us all by surprise because she is not really old (a hamster's life expectancy is around 2 years and Moosie is around 1.5 years old). Moreover, she hasn't shown any symptoms (i.e. losing fur, loss of appetite, weight loss, etc) at all... so we are really puzzled.

I leave you with some of our favourite photos of Moosie.
RIP, little one... you will be missed. Thank you for leaving yoyr tiny pawprints in our lives.

I bet all your moms have been spending a lot of their time wrapping all the Christmas presents... These are the presents that mom managed to finish wrapping over the last couple of days (there are still LOTS waiting to be wrapped!!). I sure hope she can complete them in time.. heehee... I tried to help by supervising and giving 'artistic directions'... i.e. which wrapper to use, what color ribbons to go with the wrappers, how the ribbons should be placed, etc. Hershey on the other hand, was not of any help at all. She kept stealing and running away with the presents, ribbons and tapes!! (Mom: I want to throttle her!! I am sure none of you faced such a problem, right?)

Mom finally bought the silver Christmas ornament which she saw at the Harrod's shop after one month of hesitation. She'd definitely have bought it on the spot if we have Lucas with us today since it'd be his very first Christmas, but since he is in Heaven, mom did not buy it because of 'various reasons'. Now this is where the DWB magic comes in... after the advice she got from Mona and her mommy, mom made up her mind to buy it regardless of what anyone may say. She's not looked back and is really glad she managed to buy it before they are all sold out.

I have suggested to mom that we can make it our family tradition to buy one Christmas ornament every year for Lucas, it's a simple way of letting him know that he is being missed dearly by everyone.

Ooopsy-daisy... I am in trouble again. This time, I was caught red-handed (pawed??) while I was happily chewing on mom's hairband at 3am. Mom is a pretty light sleeper and she woke up one morning to the sounds of my teefies gnawing on something. It is her one and only hairband, so she wasn't amused at all. I got a big scolding and got sent back to 'jail' for the rest of the night.

I was hoping that she'd forget about the episode the next morning. Unfortunately for me, she didn't cos she remembered what happened when she was looking for her hairband. This is what she did to me... (actually I think I look quite fetching with the hairband, don't you think?) ** Insert gagging sound from Huskee **.

At least now I know what to buy for mom for Christmas...

Lucky thing for me, although mom was real mad, she still made some chicken and pork pies for us (all the chicken is for me 'cos Huskee is allergic to chicken). They were topped with loads of cheese and smelled delicious. Mom actually baked extras for her colleagues' doggies, but we wolfed it down so fast she decided to give them all to us and make a new batch next weekend for her colleagues' doggies.

Huskee: Mom reckons she can write a book based on all of Hershey's 'Crime Scenes'... we are now at Crime Scene #8.... and counting.

I've got a story to share.. it's really amazing how the world is so big, and yet so small... Before we got Hershey, mom actually had her eye on a Chow Chow pup she saw. She has always had a soft spot for the breed.. she thinks their purple tongue is absolutely adorable.. And their faces look so serious yet behind the tough exterior is a sweet desposition and is very loyal to his famiy. She claims that she felt 'connected' to this pup and simply had to bring him home, but she decided to be more rational rather than let her heart rule (that's a really rare occurrence!). She decided to wait a bit as she is very aware that it's a lifetime commitment. She went to the shop 3x over 2 days to ogle at him before telling dad that she thinks he is 'it'. However, when she went back the 4th time (this time with dad), that pup had already been sold.

Recently when we were at Maggie & Mitch's blog, we came across a comment left by a pup called Chow Chow. We decided to check his blog out and once we got to Chow Chow's blog, mom thought that he looked familiar. Without thinking too much into it, we left a message on his blog and went off to read his earlier blog entries. His earlier entry described how he was how he was bought by a man who realised after only a month that he can't take care of a puppy and wanted to give him away (WTF??!). Fortunately as fate would have it, Chow Chow's parents were looking for a Chow Chow puppy and promptly brought him home with them.

Mom then read from the entry that Chow Chow came from the same place where she saw the puppy that she almost got, and after putting the pieces together, she realised that this is the same pup!! No wonder he looked familiar! Apparently Chow Chow's first owner bought him on 31 July.. which was the same day when mom and dad went to the shop with the intention of bringing him home. When they realised he'd been sold, they were disappointed and the people at the shop kept trying to convince them to get another pup. Mom refused because she feels that she must have a 'connection' with the pup and she didn't feel it with the rest although they were all adorable. (Mom said she felt 'connected' to me since the first time she held me in her arms and she's never looked back).

So in a nutshell, fate does do funny things sometimes... I mean what are the odds of this happening? Mom's glad that Chow Chow's living in a loving family with parents who dote on him... and it's even better that his mom started a blog for him so we can continue to keep in touch! Our moms have also been exchanging emails and discussing possible 'play dates' too.. I am sure my 'not-so-little' little sister will love playing with Chow Chow.

Here's a picture of handsome Chow Chow... (we stole it from his blog...).

Thanks to Opy's parents for creating Dogs With Blogs, and also to Maggie & Mitch, for putting us in touch with Chow Chow and his family!

P/S: Mom's not sure what happened to the 'connection' thingy with Hershey... She still has the urge to 'strangle' her or hang her by her tail sometimes. (LOL!). I think there must be a 'power failure' or 'short circuit' when they decided to bring her home...

Have you ever thought you can be rewarded for doing a notti deed? Well, you definitelty can and this can only happen in DWB land!! Joey had awarded the much coveted and prestigious 'Stain Award' to Hershey.

Since this is such an honour, I will allow Hershey to say a few words. This is the first time I have allowed her the use of the blog, and she is a little bit over-excited, so please bear with her.

**Clearing throat**... Ahem... Testing, Testing 1, 2, 3..

Greetings everyone!! It's me, it's me, it's me.... it's Hershey!! OMdoG, OMdoG... I can't believe Huskee allowed me to blog today.. I am most excited and happy that I got my very own 'Stain Award' from Joey. Huskee's got his own 'Stain Award' previously for peeing on the big bed (I wasn't even born then, so he can't put the blame on me!!) and I have always wanted one based on my own merits. Whew, w
hat an honour this is...

This was what I did to win the award:

In Joey's own words, 'the placement on the pristine white couch is truly incredible'... I am so glad Joey's got the artistic flair to appreciate my efforts on the placement of those... ermm... poo. If you noticed, I have placed them in sort of a triangular shape.. I wanted it to be a Christmas tree (since mom is too stingy to buy one this year), unfortunately I ran out of 'ammunition' (read: poo) before I could complete my work of art.

I still don't quite understand why mom screeched so loudly (my ear drums hurt for 2 whole days) and punished me for being talented. I am glad my DWB friends appreciate my masterpiece.

I am truly humbled and I promise I will work even harder towards another Stain Award.

THANK YOU, Joey!! **puppy kisses**

Dad took this picture and he liked it cos he thought it looked 'artistic'... I just think it looks blurry and looking at it makes me dizzy!! (Hmm... I think my nose looks kinda cute, don't you think??)

The photo was taken before I had my grooming.. with all my sofy, fluffy fur gone, I look nekkid now. But I must say that I do like my shorter cut because it' means that I do not need to spend so much time being combed! Mom says that without all the fur, I look so small and vulnerable that she suddenly felt a burst of maternal instincts to 'protect' me. Protect me from who, I wonder? Could it be Hershey?

Friday, December 5, 2008

If you haven't checked out the hilarious interview that AKI conducted with Hershey, go and check it out now. It's so funny!! But I must add I was not amused when I found out that Hershey swopped my name for her name on Santa's 'Nice' list... I bet she was originally on Santa's 'Naughty' list for all the destruction she's caused.

As you know, mom's feeling a bit blue lately (I wonder why 'blue'.. I thought her favourite colors are pink or black??), hence AKI put this interview together to try and get to the root of Hershey's destructive problem. I'm not sure AKI managed to find out the root cause of the problem, but the post sure cheered mom up and made her laugh. She said it's one of the sweetest thing anyone/ pup's done! Thank You, AKI and Poopie!!

This morning, Hershey did something naught again, but it was quite funny too.. heehee. While mom was preparing herself for work, she usually likes to put on warpaint on her face (Mom: Not warpaint Huskee.. It's cosmetics!!) before she puts any clothes on (she claims it's cooler). Hershey loves to people-watch and this morning, she decided she wanted to look at the 'view' outside. We are on the 2nd floor and every morning, there is a big group of retirees who exercise on the lawn which the master bedroom faces. While admiring the view, Hershey managed to draw one side of the curtain apart... meaning the chubby, naked woman was exposed for all to see!! Mom ran like a madwoman into the bathroom while dad scrambled to draw the curtains together!! Not sure if anyone saw anything, but I get a feeling that mom has learnt her lesson.

Have a happy weekend everyone!!

If Hershey is not in deep sh*t, I really don't know who is. Right, this is reporter Huskee, reporting 'live' from uhhh... home. Yes, you have read it right, very shortly after her last major destruction, the black and white one has done it AGAIN. This time, she's chewed the leather off the legs of not 1, but 2 of the dining room chairs!

Exhibit one: Normal looking chair leg

Exhibit 2: Chair leg after it's 'meeting' with Hershey's teefies (we have 2 chairs in this condition now)

Exhibit 3: The Culprit aka Owner of Evil Teefies aka Miss She-is-so-in-Trouble

May I clarify that I had no part to play in all her evil deeds. She is taller than me now and weighs more than me (and may I add that her teefies are sharper than mine), so what can I do right? I did tell her to stop... I really did!! **innocent look**

As you'd be able to imagine, a lot of profanities that flew out of mom's mouth when she saw the damage (I was suitably impressed by her vocabulary). And dad? He just shook his head at the evil do'er and told her that she's on her own. Now it's back to the cage for Hershey while mom and dad go out to work. She had her freedom but she chose not to take it. Oh and I get a nagging suspicion that she is getting a muzzle as her Christmas present (if she is even getting anything at all).

Mom took this photo when she was on the plane during her flight from Singapore to Manila. (From the pic, I guess you can tell which cabin she is in right? It's definitely not in the front! Heehee..) Well, she hardly bothers to look at the 'scenery' outside when she is in the plane, but this time, it got her attention because it was a pretty nice and clear day outside and she was feeling somewhat melancholic.

The pretty blue skies and fluffy white clouds made her wonder if this is how 'Heaven' looks like. If it is indeed how Heaven looks like, is Lucas safe and happy there? Is he playing among the clouds? Is he lonely there??

Mom's been feeling a bit down cos it's getting closer to her 'supposed' due date for Lucas. It was to be around the 2nd to 3rd week of December but I guess we'd never know for sure now. Her colleague had given birth to a baby boy last week and mom couldn't bring herself to visit her or even look at the baby photos.

- Instead of buying baby clothes, baby socks & mittens, booties, nappies, etc, we are buying puppy toys, puppy treats, puppy teething rings...
- Instead of filling up the intended 'baby room' with a baby bed, changing table, toys, etc, that room now is filled with laundry waiting to be ironed...
- Instead of 'baby-proofing' the house, we are 'puppy-proofing' it...
- Instead of cradling a baby in her arms this Christmas, mom will have a squirming puppy (and me)...

I am training to be a croupier because by around 2009, there'll be a C.A.S.I.N.O in Singapore. (The government says it's NOT a casino, it is called an Integrated Resort... Well, whatever... I think it's just a gloried name for 'casino'. It's a place where people gather legally with the main intention to gamble, so what else can you call that??)

It'll be the very first one (followed by another one which will open shortly after). There's been talks that the construction is being delayed due to the current market conditions, but well, I don't think there's any harm if I start my training early.

Place your bets....

Hmmm.. I wonder how long my squeaky dice can last befor 'sploding...
