Post- Christmas Blues...

Christmas day came and went before I knew it... Why can't we have Christmas once a month?? Imagine that... *bliss*... Well, I spent the better half of the morning ripping open my pressies and ma was so jealous of me cos I have got more pressies than her!! Thanks to all my friends...

This lovely jacket is from Fu Fu and his mum..
(Huskee's ma: I love this jacket and I only wish it came in hooman size!!)

My gift all the way from Canada!!

This is from my dear friend Jay and his mum. I love the red and blue cos it brightens up my otherwise 'monochrome' coloured coat!

This turtle is from my dear Auntie Sam

This ltttle squeaky doggy is from either Jack or Joey... I received a present from each of them but the other was little raw hide boot and I chewed it up before ma could take a picture of it.. Ooops...

This huge squeaky is from Godma

and last but not least, these are from ma and pa..

Other than these, I have also received a hand-painted bowl with my picture on it from Herbie, a yellow squeaky teddy bear from Rafv, a squeaky doughnut from Bingo... and many, many more! Ma said she'd not have to buy me any toys for a long time!!

Another Pressie for ME!!

Ma brought back another present when she came back from work last night.. it is from Herbie!!

Is it what I think it is??? Thanks Herbie and Auntie Sharon!

Checking out some of my presents... I CAN"T WAIT TO OPEN THEM!!

Oh, and ma made some of these yesterday for my friends (Jay, Scuba & Co., Uncle Derick's 3 furkids - Max, Spanky and Duchess, etc).. I think it's supposed to be GingerBread Meat Patties (not sure if anyone's heard of it before..). , there's a choice of a 'flavours' - Pork and Garden Greens or Beef, Bacon and Rice. After ma packed them into their respective containers, she realised that she didn't make enough and guess who had to go without??! Hmmph!!! I am not happy... seriously how can this happen?? What will I eat?? I think I am going over to Godma/ Scuba's place... *#$%^&#@!

Only one shot ok, Ma?

Ok ok, fine, just one more...

Hey, that's enough Ma.. you've got 2 nice shots already..

I am not looking at you anymore...Hmmmph!!

Tagged (Episode 3)

This is the 3rd time I have been tagged... When I found out that I have been tagged by Comet and Blu, I almost fell off my chair.. but after reading the instructions, it didn't seem so bad... it actually sounded quite fun!!

The Rules: The player of this game starts with "3 things he/ she would love to get for Christmas" and also has to list "3 things he/ she definitely does not want to get for Christmas". Then he/she tags 5 friends and list their names. The ones who get tagged need to write on their blogs about their Christmas wishes, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. And the one who tags need to leave a comment that says "you've been Christmas tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Things I'd live to get for Christmas:
1) Lifetime supply of bellyrub vouchers (redeemable from the hoomans anyday, anytime... with absolutely no fine prints on the 'terms and conditions' (cos there are none!)
2) TOYS! The louder the squeak, the better!!
3) A girlfriend.. (this wish was my birthday wish, but since it hasn't been fulfilled, I will try it again for Christmas).. I am jealous of T-Man and Chelsea, Boo and Chiyo, y'know..
4) A postman who'll leave behind a treat or two for me.. and of cos who delivers my pressies and cards to my friends BEFORE Christmas!!!

Things I definietly wouldn't want to get for Christmas:
1) Hair cut / Session at the groomers - Need I say more?
2) Being alone at home...
3) Ticks (ewwww...)

My 5 victims are:
Jay, Murphey, Baily, Fee and T-Man!

Have fun!!

Are they really all MINE??

I can't wait for Christmas to come so that I can rip open all my presents!!

This is from Fu Fu, Bibi and Auntie Eil

I received Sunshade's card and her pressie!!
(Huskee's Ma:- I think it'd be more appropriate if it said 'Small Dog with Big Attitude Problem'')

From my dearest Auntie Sam

From my Big Little Brother Scuba and his feline siblings, Pepper and Ginger

From Jack and Joey!!

This is from Rafv and his pa and ma.. Thank you Uncle Cas and Auntie R!!

These are some of the cards that I received from all my friends from around the world (I received about a dozen more after this pic was taken).. I really look forward to the postman's delivery every day and I have decided that the 'Postman is Friend, Not Foe' and will not bark at him anymore (well, not this month anyway!!).. I got to be nice so that I will be on Santa Paws' 'Nice Pooch' list..

Countdown to Christmas (Phase II)
Countdown to Christmas (Phase I) was the making of the Christmas cards for the card exchange.. Now that it's been completed, ma and I have started Phase II, aka shopping for presents!! Actually ma had already started with shopping for some of the gifts sometime last month and this weekend was to complete the 'unfinished' business...
We went round looking for gifts for my pals and and when that was done, we shopped for wrappers, decorative thingys, padded envelopes (for those that needs to be mailed), etc... All in all, it was a fun but tiring day. (I saw ma sneaking something into the shopping basket which she obviously didn't want me to see.. I think I have more pressies!! Hee...) When we have gotten all the pressies that we need and ma had to get down to wrapping them.. Boy was there loads to wrap!! (Ma was making so much noise 'cos she ended up with many paper cuts...Typical of her to be so clumsy!!)
Sneak preview of the pressies
(this is only 50% of them.. the rest have not yet been wrapped)..

Dog-tired after all the activities...

The next 'nghtmare' will be going to the post office to weigh and get the correct postage stamps for the packages... With Christmas just 2 weeks away, many people are rushing to send off their presents.. Oh my...

Finally got to see some of the photos that ma and pa took when they were in Hong Kong last week.. I discovered evidence of them having an 'affair' behind my back with not one, but two dogs!! Their names are Goofy and Pluto and they look strangely familiar to me though I cannot remember where I have seen them before... Here's the evidence:

Ma even had the nerve to bring back a T-shirt which had Pluto on it!! What's the world coming to? I feel that my position within the household is being threatened...

I think I may need to start planning for my future soon... and I need to know more about this 'invader' in order to win back my ma and pa. The more I searched, the more worried I got.. apparently Pluto has got a lot of friends. However, it is a weird mixture with mice (Mickey and Minnie), ducks (Donald and Daisy), squirrels (Chip and Dale), a deer called Bambi and yes, and even an elephant called Dumbo (from the name, I don't think this one will be of any threat!!)

Fortunately I think I should be able to cope with the enemy since I also have loads of friends that I made on DWB and I am sure I can count on them!!

My Christmas Card is Completed!!

Yayyy... my ma finally completed my Christmas cards for the card exchange last night .. Actually many people played a part in the making of the card and I'd like to give credit to (ahem...) here it goes (in no particular order):

1) Ma who contributed the most in terms of time, effort and money (I don't have any money after getting Christmas gifts for my friends...*innocent look*). She spent many long hours at her desk cutting, pasting, stamping and colouring (and giving me the 'evil eye'... the deadline was very tight cos she wanted to ensure that all the cards can be sent out by this week and it was really hectic as she left on a business trip to China right after the cards were competed.
2) Pa who co-designed the photo that was used and then played the part of pasting 50% of whatever that needed to be glued together (yes I offered to do that but Ma said 'NO Huskee!!'.. She said it was due to hygiene reasons...)
3) Pa's friend, Uncle Julian, who was the 'Master Designer' who 'photo-shopped' the photo...
4) Auntie Sharon and Godma for getting the stamps!!
5) The Maid, who has been been assigned the all important task of pasting the correct stamps on each card and then bringing it to the post box!
Whew... mission accomplished... I can now put my paws up and relax! Nowadays I can't wait to open the mailbox everyday cos there is always something for me!

Now it's time for my nap... Zzzzz....

I want to go to Hong Kong too!!

Ma and Pa came back from Hong Kong late Sunday night after a short holiday and they brought back 2 extra big bags of shopping!! So between the 2 of them, they had 4 bags.. I guess Hong Kong's reputation as a 'Shopping Paradise' remains intact!! Ma was oohing-and-ahhing over the nice hotel room which had a clear view of the harbour (despite the smog)....

... view of the harbour on a clear day...

Now, things are getting more 'interesting' from here (at least to me!!)... the thing that interests me most was pics. of the food...

Pa's ultimate fav. - Roast Goose Drumstick

.. sauteed mushroom, abalone fried rice and carrot & dumpling soup...

... beef noodles.....

and last but not least, crab meat and mushroom soup....

I am glad they had a good time shopping, eating and sightseeing WITHOUT me... *pouts*.. I actually 'planned' to be upset with them both at least for a while, but once I saw them, I guess I lost all my 'dignity' and started kissing and slobbering all over them.. Guess I forgive them before I even finished wagging my tail... so much for being 'upset'!!

Ma also bought some toys and treats for me in Hong Kong but she will not give them to me until Christmas!! Hmmm.. it's a long wait....

Oh, and I have received loads of lovely cards from all my doggy pals.. I have been asking ma for the 'status' of mine and she kept saying 'almost done'.. Somehow I don't feel convinced by her reply... How??

Pre-Birthday Wish for my Dream Girl..

Sorry I have not been blogging lately.. Ma had been hogging the computer and I was only allotted a very limited time to use it. Ma told me that she'd be travelling starting from tomorrow and won't be back till Sunday, so she gave me some extra time to update my blog before anyone starts to think that I have been 'dog-napped'...
Ma is going to a place called Hong Kong for work and Pa will be joining her at the end of her trip where they will spend some quality time together (hey, what's quality time without me?? *rolls eyes*). Ma is really looking forward to the trip because it had been a while since she and pa went away for a holiday. Moreover, ma was given free accommodation for 2 nights at Conrad Hong Kong too, so they decided to make use of it...
Anyway I have decided to dedicated this entry to my dream gal, Miss Sunshade! It's going to be her birthday in just a few day's time and I may not get a chance to send her my wishes in time... So to this 'Mei Nu' aka PrettyDale:

Wishing her many, many more loving years with her mum!!

* And hope you receive a plane ticket to SIN so you can visit me.. I promise to drive you around in my Audi convertible..

This can't possibly be the new HuskeeMobile??

Ma showed the picture of the new car and I cannot believe my eyes... don't you think it is waaaaaaay to small even for moi??? I cannot even take Sunshade or my god-brother Scuba out for a spin.. Moreover, I don't like convertibles as messes up my fur-do.. Something is definitely not right with pa and ma's choice of the family car!!

Afterwards, I realised they were pulling my paw... Whew.. They saw this in the showroom and ma thought it looked so cute (although she'd no idea who'd buy something like this for a kid since it is so expensive).

Initially we were told that the new car will only be ready in Jan 07 (that really seems like a long time away) but the good news is that the car dealer said it would arrive earlier than expected.. sometime on or before Christmas!! Yayyy... hopefully they'd bring me over to my godma's place so that I can play with Scuba and Auntie S. Ma said that the Christmas tree is already up at Scuba's place.. Oh and there's also Jay's Christmas paw-ty to look forward to!! I am so excited!! Ma had already started with her Christmas shopping for me and my friends although she wouldn't show them to me *pouts*.. Dec 25th is such a long time away...

Bye Bye Car..

The car dealer came to collect the car on Monday and the photos were taken to the day before it was taken away. Ma told me that they won't be able take me out for a while until the new car arrives... sigh sigh... (Oh and in case anyone read my earlier post on the 'battle' between pa and ma on which car to buy, the result is out.. Pa won!!)

Belt up everyone.. I am driving..!!

Safety first.. let me lock the doors...

....and check out the folks sitting in the back...

C'mon, we are all set to go!!... (if i can reach the pedals that is..)

Where's Everybody??

I am bored, bored, bored... I have been alone at home most of the week as the family's been busy taking care of Grandpapa in the hospital.. I am running out of ideas to keep myself occupied.

Look right...

Look left...

Look ahead.....

And there's nothing interesting..

(ok, except my friend - 'Mr Frogger'. We are playing a game called 'Please Don't Pounce on Me')

Grandmama said that Grandpapa might be able to come home today!! I can't wait... I need some life in the house.. and I am so looking forward to Grandpapa coming home!! Yayyy..... Yippeeee...
Everyone's been warning me that I must be on my very best behaviour and must not jump on grandpapa's injured leg.. (what are they talking about?!! I have always been a good boy..)

Operation Day

Grandpapa underwent an operation today to 'repair' the damaes from his fall. Not really sure what was done but I heard something about metal plates and screws.. ewww... sure sounds painful to me. The entire weekend was boring as the family spent lots of time at the hospital accompanying Grandpapa.. just wish they could bring me with them. Although I am not a certified therapy dog, I am sure Grandpapa would love to see me. Scuba told me (through tele-paw-ty) he heard from his mum who visited Grandpapa on Sat that he told her he missed me!! Ma is planning to find some way to smuggle me in.. the only problem is they are worried I might bark out of sheer excitement when I see Grandpapa!!
Also, I overheard pa and ma talking about getting a new car.. YIPEE!! I have been so jealous of Sunshade's SunshadeMobile, so I hope pa and ma will convert the new car into a 'HuskeeMobile'!! I've overheard him talking to Uncle Steven and Uncle Caster (aka Rafv's daddy) trying to collect feedback on different brands... Ma prefers a Japanese car as they are more affordable (her hidden motive is if they get a cheaper car, she can still have money for shopping. I know she's been eyeing a Coach bag) but pa wants a continental car... so now it's "Battle of the Sexes" at home. Check this space for the results!

Uh-oh...

There was some drama at home today... and I DO NOT LIKE IT one single bit!!
Grandpapa went out early this morning and he tripped and fell.. apparently it was pretty serious and he had to be hospitalised. Grandpapa injured something called 'femur' (wherever that is) and it broke in 3 places, so the doctor said he'd need to be operated on sometime next week as they are running some tests.. Actually this is the 2nd time Grandpapa fell and needed an operation. The first time was in March last year and he stayed in the hospital for so long.. I really missed him during that time. I hope this time he'd be able to come home quickly but mama said it'd probably be another week or two before he can come home... *sob*
There's been too much dramas in my life lately.. i.e. the detestable grooming session (yes I look hideous now but I survivied it), my friend Coco's 'Jaws' close brush with death and now Grandpapa's fall.
Hmmm.. everyone at home had been looking so gloomy today, maybe I shall make some 'sacrifice' and share a pic of myself with my new 'fur-do' to cheer everyone up... if you are my friend, you better not laugh!! I can't wait for my fur to grow out... but well, I think I am considered lucky cos I only need to go to the groomers once every 3-4months.. my poor friend Toby has to go every 5 weeks!!(The lobster in the picture was from papa to make up for the 'stress and trauma' that I went through..) The other good thing that came out of this (other than the treats and toys that mama bought) is that I look super skinny now, so hopefully ma will give me more food.. *hiak hiak*..

Arrghhh... Time for my Grooming Session

I overheard The Maid making an appointment with the groomer this Saturday!! Oh no... I hate grooming sessions (for vanity reasons) and I think I look better with my long coat.. (personally I think I look dreadful and I feel very 'naked' after my grooming sessions)...

Here are the pics that Ma took after my previous grooming session - Proof of what I mean:

Ma's reason for sending me off to the groomer is because she is concerned that my coat being fairly long now would make me uncomfortable in our hot and humid climate. For anyone who is interested, Singapore's temperature averages around 30°C/ 87°F all year round (Yes, spring, summer, autumn and winter is the SAME)... I kind of miss the four distinct seasons in Melbourne. Autumn is me and Ma's favourite season. After her lectures or on days that she need not go to uni., Ma used to take me out to Carlton park to play or we'd go for long walks to the post office when it's nice and cool. We'd see possums and squirrels, falling/ fallen autum leaves, swans in the big pond.. Ok I am digressing. Was feeling somewhat nostalgic for my birth place and where I grew up cos I had many happy memories there...
Back to the topic, Ma also conveniently forgot to mention the other reason for wanting to send me for grooming, i.e. they'd not have to spend so much time combing out the tangles and bathing me would be a breeze for the next 3 months!! Lazy bums...
Well, the only positive thing out of this is normally Ma will buy me lots of treats and new toys to 'make up' for it.. so at then end of the day I end up with bags of goodies!!
It'd take at least 2-3 months for the fur to grow out and for me to look 'normal' again... Hmmm, maybe I will not post any more photos of myself for the time being until life is back to normal...lest I get laughed at...

Presents for Me... (and it's not even my Birthday!!)

A big THANK YOU to Jay's mum (Auntie J) and Fu Fu's mum (Auntie Eil)!! Either I have been a good boy or I must have done something really nice 'cos I received presents over the weekend!!
The Maid also received a present from them... it was a very handsome looking stuffed toy. The 2 aunties got it for her because they think it looks like moi! Other than my fur being slightly darker, I think it really looks like me.. and I have decided to call him Buddee (as in 'buddy' but I wanted it to be somewhat similar to my name, hence it ends with 'ee' rather 'y').
I also went over to visit Godma and Scubs. on Sunday... more importantly, the person whom I wanted to see most was Auntie Sam.. (Sorry Godma, Sorry Scubs!!)..
Here I am with 'my' Auntie Sam..

'Flower Boy'??

I have not had the chance to use the computer 'cos ma had been hogging it.. I finally got a chance to update my blog today.

I have got a picture here to share with my friends to show what I have to put up with at home... Well, Mum made some wristbands for her bridesmaids and she decided that they'd look good on me too.. *grimace*.. Will someone please remind her that I AM A BOY! Flowers are for girls!! (When she was trying to take this picture, I refused to look at the camera so as to show my 'disapproval'.. Obviously, she didn't get it....)
Oh yes, and let me introduce the 2 new 'friends' that I got to know after pa and ma's wedding ceremony.. introducing (drum-roll please..)... Mr Barry Bear and Mrs Berry Bear. So far they have been 'protected' from me... Sooner or later I promise you, when they are not careful, I will lay my paws on them and shower them with my 'love' (i.e. get the stuffings out of them)... *hiak hiak hiak*...

I Adore Auntie Sam..

To think that I was initially worried about going over to stay at Scuba's place... after 2 nights I was reluctant to go home because I have fallen in love with Auntie Sam. We literally had a '2 nights stand'.. (I got to sleep with her on both nights.. *bliss*..) Now I can't wait to go to Scuba's house..
Today is the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, something that the Chinese call Mid Autumn Festival. There'll be a full moon tonight and the round shape symbolizes family reunion. Therefore it is a day for family members to get together and enjoy the full moon - an auspicious token of abundance, harmony and luck. Round "moon cakes", made of fruit, ice cream, yogurt, pork, mushrooms, green tea, flowers, jelly etc., are a traditional food eaten during the festival. They also enjoy pomelos on this day; the Chinese word for pomelo, sounds the same as another Chinese word to beseech the moon god for protection. I love this fruit (although it does not seem to digest properly..)
Happy Mid Autumn Festival!!
