More new year photos taken over the weekend...

Me checking out the mandarin oranges...
Hey, someone must make sure that those oranges are sweet and juicy right?

Hershey posing with the pussy willows...

and one of the house plants that has Chinese New Year ornaments hanging from the branches
(as you can see, our mom gets carried away with the decorations sometimes)

Someone call the police!! I see firecrackers!! Get away from there Hershey!!
(Mom: those aren't real!!)

Here are some of the photos that mom took when they took Herhsey, The Pooping Pup, to the park.

Meeting & making new friends...

Wheeee.... I can feel the wind blowing through my hair!!

Caught doing what she does best --- Pooping!!
(That's dad walking there to pick up her poop)

A tired dog is a good dog!

'Smiling' for the camera...

Meanwhile, I have been helping mom with cleaning and decorating the house for Chinese New Year. This is one of the first things that we put up... the pussy willow tree (plus some synthetic cherry blossoms)!! We will be going to get more plants tonight cos live, blooming plants symbolize rebirth and new growth. Flowers are believed to be symbolic of wealth and high positions in one's career. Lucky is the home with a plant that blooms on New Year's Day, for that foretells a year of prosperity

I will show you more photos soon!

Mom's eyes are leaky because she just read that Destiny's gone to the Rainbow Bridge. I can't believe we have lost another friend in such a short span of time... we were only trying to come to terms with the loss of Zoe, and of course my llittle hammie sister, Moosie.

Our heart goes out to Destiny and Zoe's families. Mom is very affected everytime one of our friends goes to the Rainbow Bridge, and part of this is because I am a 'senior dog', and mom is really scared and is dreading when the day comes for me to join my friends. She hopes that she will have enough courage to make the best decision for me.

Ever since Hershey came into our lives, it has become even more obvious to mom that I am really not the young pup that she first brought home 9 years ago. I am not as playful, not as energetic, becoming grumpier and my used to be jet-black fur is now mostly grey, with specks of white... and it breaks her heart. Sometomes she even feels guilty for bringing Hershey into our lives because in a way, Hershey takes away some of her time that was originally meant for me.

Whew... this is one depressing post and we are sorry if we made any of you sad. On a brighter note, I'd like to share one piece of good news with you. Hershey finally pooped after 3.5 days!!

Mom and Dad finally couldn't stand it anymore and finally brought Hershey to the vet on Wednesday for her 'sploding butt' problem. All the pumpkin; rice; boiled chicken; scrambled egg formulae didn't seem to be effective and although she is still very happily eating, playing, nibbling, chewing, wrecking, destroying (ok, you get the picture right?).

She's got poked by a needle (finally something that's even more lethal than her evil teefies!!) and has to take medication for the next couple of days. the vet thinks she probably ate something that she shouldn't have when she is at the park.

It's Friday now and mom is still feeling worried... this time it's not because of Hershey's diarrhea... it is because Hershey hasn't pooped for coming 2 days now and mom thinks she is constipated. Our mom is a worry-wart, isn't she?!!

Here's the 'patient' asking mom to play 'tug' with her... This colourful ring toy is her current favourite as it's a Christmas present from Tommy. Does Hershey look sick to you??

Not long ago we played the 'Pay It Forward' game on our blog and the first 3 pups who commented on that post are: Happy, Chow Chow & Rudolf and Goofy. We will be sending 'something' to all of you shortly! Thanks for playing...

Mom and dad took Hershey to mom's boss' house one day so that she can play with her boss' 2 dogs, Max and Marmite. I was at grandma's day care because I much prefer the company of humans than dogs (yes, I am a funny thing...).

Hershey had a wonderful time running, chasing and playing bitey face with Max (Marmite's the smarter one here cos he opted to stay on the sidelines and watch all the action... and at the same time steer clear of Hershey's evil teefies!!)

1) Introduction --- Hershey pretending to be all ladylike and demure... **gagging sound**

2) Butt sniffing and warming up....

3) Play officially starts! --- Off with all pretense and Hershey's true colors are revealed... (don't even ask why she is trying to hump Max's head)...

4) Time for Bitey Face

5) Stopping for a rest

6) Hershey unashamedly claiming the host's water bowl for herself...

7) Dog-tired after all the action... (FINALLY!!).. that was after 2 solid hours of play

So what was I doing during this whole time? This!!

Pay it Forward

We recently played this game on Chow Chow's blog and are continuing on with it. The rules are really simple, "The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way. We are going to agree to send something fun, inspiring or uplifting to the first 3 blog owners who post a comment on this entry. In turn you will then post about this on your blog, link to us, then send something to the first three people who sign up to play along through your blog. There are no cost restraints, BUT don't go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. No biggie, just a gift that will make the person smile. Maybe something unique from where you live? And, remember that kindness don't have to involve money; there are untold ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go - just look around."

I think this is a great game to play, so even if you are not one of the first 3 to leave a comment on this post, please feel free to initiate it!

Reporter Huskee reporting from ummm... home. Hershey is still having the runs and she woke dad up at 3am cos she wanted to poop. They had given her some charcoal pills and loads of water. Mom also boil some rice and chicken for her so hopefully it'd improve. If she still does not improve, they'll be taking her to the V.E.T. ** shudders ** The diarrhea does not seem to be affecting her much fortunately, as she still has a healthy appetite and is very playful.

We were wondering what's the cause of this sudden bout of diarrhea... Pawsonally I think the girl just had too much to eat during the Chirstmas and New Year pawties. She should learn not to be so greedy next time!!

I have been a good big brother... I helped by being a good boy (I usually am) so that mom and dad can concentrate on taking care of Hershey.

This is my very first post in 2009, and I'd like to start it with wishing all my pa(w)ls and their families a Happy New Year! May this year be better than the last one, and may it be filled with even more love, joy and good health for all.

Mom found this cute picture of a Border Collie online (nope, it's not Hershey although it really looks like her!!).

I want to share with you the presents that Hershey and I received from mom and dad for Christmas.

All the 'smaller' ones belong to me and the 'bigger' ones are Hershey's. As you can see, there are more small ones than big ones! Heehee...

Mom and dad are still in Malaysia and won't be back till late tomorrow evening... Papa's parents are puppy-sitting Hershey whereas I am with mama's parents. Mama and papa have not been able to enjoy much because of Hershey. Just before they went on their trip, Hershey had diarrhea and it was so bad that mama had to cancel her playdate with Chow Chow. Mom gave her some medication and boiled her some chicken soup with rice... it seemed to have gotten better but then papa's dad told him that her poo poo was still very soft (and super stinky) on Friday. Fortunately it seemed to have improved over the weekend.
