Some of you may still remember one of my ealier posts about Benjy right? We found out about it last week but mom didn't know how to break the news to everyone. Aunty W's family had sent BOTH Benjy and Coffee (the miniature poodle) to SPCA! My hoomans still find it difficult to believe that they sent 2 perfectly healthy dogs to SPCA without even trying to re-home them *speechless*...

The reason why Benjy and Coffee are in this predicament is because their neighbours had complained a few times that they bark in the middle of the night (both of them are confined to the back yard all the time), and they can't be let into the house at night because they are not toilet-trained (Aunty W's house had been renovated so they don't allow Benjy and Coffee into the house anymore in case they have 'accidents').

Mom thinks that they also lack interaction with the family. While they get food and water, they are sadly lacking love and attention from the family... or toys and activities to keep them occupied... no walkies for them either... and I serious doubt if they remember when they got their last tummy rub from anyone ... The problem of them barking in the middle of the night could be due to all these factors and also all the pent-up energy and boredom.

Their fate is now uncertain because the SPAC here will normally try to re-home animals that are younger.. and Benjy and Coffee are no spring chickens (8 years old and 7 years old respectively), and them not being toilet-trained could be a big 'disadvantage' to prospective owners.

It's no fault of theirs that Aunty W chose to buy and bring them home;
It's no fault of theirs that their hoomans did not toilet-train them when they were pups;
It's no fault of theirs that Aunty W got herself a cute, new pup;
It's no fault of theirs that their hoomans decided that they have no time to care for and play with them;
It's no fault of theirs that they have now been sent away and their fates now hang by a thread...

So WHOSE fault is it??

A very upset and annoyed Huskee Boy.

Its certainly a very sad news. When were they sent there? If you want to try save them, perhaps you can try contacting one of the dog rescue organisations to work with SPCA to get them out.

There are just too many irresponsible dog owners around. Sad...

Snowball

Is there no way to find out the fate of coffee and benjy? Poor them, to be abandoned by their own family to a cruel fate! They should never, never get another pet.

Good grief...I feel so sad to hear about this. It's quite obvious their owner doesn't seem to really care or even love them. :( Is there anything we can do now? To help rehoming them?

Oh, Huskee boy!

I wish we could go scoop them up & take care of them! I can't believe anyone could give up two obviously sweet pups! Of COURSE they bark at night. They have needs that noone was meeting.

Too bad Aunty W got them in the first place. Is there anything we can do for them?

Goober love,
Stanley

How could she do that? She didn't even put any effort on trying to rehome them or EVEN toilet train them. How can she be sooo irresponsible??? It's not their fault making alot of noise in the middle of the night coz like you said, they're bored & they just want to come out from the backyard. How can you keep two small dogs in the backyard? That's just not right...I feel so sorry for them both. She does not deserve any more dogs ever again! She should be banned from having any.

That's really sad. Dogs deserved much better. They shouldn't have get a dog then. I can't stand people that neglect their dogs. I really hope that the Benjy and Coffee have a second chance to be truly love and care with a forver home.

It's sad and upsetting how people would treat their furball in such way. I have no respect for such people because they choose to bring them home when their young and all but the problems with potty and all is all their fault being that they weren't responsibily to teach them. It's like bring home a baby and not potty train them, same turn out.

Oh that is so woofully sad! Those poor guys. We so agree - have yur mom check out rescues in the area to see if they can retrieve those pups. We sure do hope they find the right furever home that will give them lots of love & train them right.

That is very sad news. Hopefully benjy and coffee will be some of the few lucky dogs that get a second chance and will find a loving furrever home that will give them all the love and tummy rubs they deserve. We are thinking positive thoughts for them.

Oh, my mom is crying now seeing that poodle puppy that looks just like me, and knowing he is homeless. We wish we could go there and rescue them!

Did your Aunt really get another puppy? That's not good at all. The poor thing will probably have a similar fate.

Those poor pups.. I hope some kind soul will rescue them.

This is inconceivable!!!
Giving up 2 existing dogs and getting a new puppy?
Does she have any intention to love this puppy till the end or will it end up like the existing 2?

Hi Huskee
My mum gets so upset hearing this. It happens way too much. Mum would like the hoomans to experience what some of us doggies have to suffer every day of our lives, through no fault of our own. It is so very wrong, and something positive needs to stop this cruelty.
