Seriously... I really think Hershey has a thing for tennis (or Roger Federer). All of us were lying peacefully in bed and channel surfing (the human's favourite activity most of the weekends) and once we got to the sports channel which was showing a tennis match, Hershey suddenly perked up and got very excited. She started pacing on the bed in front of the TV and started making excited noises... (it sounded like the cross between the cooing sound that doves make and whining).
Here are some pics to prove my point... (and I think my sister is mad). She was actually 'watching' intently for a good 5 minutes or so and mom had to change the channel to stop her from being so excited.
Hershey (perking up): Oh wow... Tennis match!!
Let's see if I can spot Federer...
This isn't him...
and nope... this isn't him either
Ok, guess he isn't playing in this match.. **disappointed sigh**
Now mom is really curious because I have never shown any interest on what is showing on TV (and that's cos I am N.O.R.M.A.L woman!!) I'd be concerned if I were mom cos we've got a nutty Border Collie living under the same roof!!... So we need some advice please. Is it common for dogs to exhibit this kind of behaviour?? (I reckon we should be making an appointment with a shrink soon).

I never watch tv, unless there is some really interesting sound on it. Hershey must be very -er unique.

oh I am exactly the same, I never actually "see" the tv at all, even if dogs are on there!
Happy weekend Huskee and Hershey!

The only time we watch TV is when we hear a dog bark, then we go CRAZY!

Happy Weekend to all of woo!

Some of us are like Murphey, any canine sounds really makes us wonder where is that PUP?
So, Huskee, when woo want some time alone, just turn on the tube for Hershey.

I think Hershey is going to be a tennis pro when he gets older! Mom has noticed that all the border collies at the off leash dog park are always chasing tennis balls...

Hi, Huskee!
Does that happen all the time or only with tennis games??
I guess I am "normal" like you because I never show interest on tv!
Kisses and hugs

I think Hershey looks really cute watching tennis. Maybe she would like to play in real life?

Hershey is really enjoying that match! We rarely watch TV and we only get excited about another doggie being on the screen! Then we run to the window to see if they're outside playing in our yard!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Wow, Hershey can watch TV! I never really bother with the TV and what's going on in it. I rather lie in front of it and day dream about something else.
Uh Oh, sounds like you have a crazed teenage girl at your house!! I very rarely watch the TV but Tanner barks at it all the time.
Well, I think Hershey is more interested in the tennis ball than anything else. Does she like to play fetch? She's probably trying to figure out how to get that ball away from the crazy humans hitting it with those silly rackets!

Hello there. I do not watch TV and neither does my mom, so we have no advise for you. sorry. Stop on by sometime. =)
I think Hershey wants the ball! Fetch Hershey.....he he.

We only pay attention to the TV if we hear animal noises.
Simba and Jazzi xx
You sure enjoy watching the match!

I watch when there are weird noises coming from the tv, especially when Dad is watching bird hunting shows. Gunnar likes to watch race cars on the tv. Maybe Hurshey just likes to watch the ball - or maybe she's just weird.

Goofy: I love Animal Planet! Maybe also race-horses (google my blog & you would be able to find something on that). I scream like how you does when I hear bicycle bells or ambulance/police sirens on TV.
I am the ONLY dog at home that appreciate this human pleasure.
LOL,
Goofy.
Maybe Hershey wanted to chase the ball? The only time we pay attention to the tv is if there is a weird animal sound - like birds, or wolves or something.
I do watch TV, Hershey, but I'm distracted easily and head for another direction.
Don't pay money for shrink service, buy a bigger TV for Hershey, hehe.
What's wrong with Hershey watching TV? Are you afraod she'll turn into a couch potato?
Or that she'll take up playing tennis and you all have to travel the country to attend her matches. (A girl can dream, can't she!)
You might suggest, though, that if she's going to take up watching tv, she might fix popcorn for all of you.
